When used with photography, Anamorphic lens adapters squeeze an image, which must then be stretched back out accordingly. This yields longer, more cinematic aspect ratios. Anamorphic lenses produce a characteristic look, especially in the oval shaped bokeh and noticeable lens flares. These images were shot at 16:9 with a 1.33x anamorphic lens, which stretched to just about 2.36:1 (which is close to widescreen cinema standards).
